Underprivileged Kids of VOW participates in Rock Climbing Course at Purulia, West Bengal

Discipline is an attribute which plays a major role in one’s pursuit for achieving success.

It has been high on our priority list to create a sense of discipline amongst the underprivileged children at ‘Voice of World’.

Discipline remains a focus area in training camps and it was no different in the Rock Climbing Course Camp conducted by Pathajatra, Budge Budge during 27th – 30th December, 2018 at Bero Hills, Purulia.

It was a kind gesture on the part of Pathajatra Club to induct 22 underprivileged children of ‘Voice of World’ as Trainees for the Rock Climbing Course and 13 out of them are Differently-abled.

It was an excellent exposure for the kids who along with another 34 trainees received Rock Climbing Training from experienced Trainers of Pathajatra Club. The presence of Shri Debabrata Mukherjee, an elite mountaineer, having a lot of accolades under his belt including conquering of Mt. Everest in 2014 as the Chief Instructor did enrich the camp immensely.

Throughout the four days, the Trainees apart from developing themselves in terms of discipline and teamwork did also learn quite a few climbing, descending techniques and techniques of using the rope to a good effect.

The performances of the underprivileged differently-abled kids of ‘Voice of World’ were at par with other trainees and in some instances it were even better.

It was a memorable experience for the underprivileged children and they would cherish it throughout their lifetime……
